Day Two
Tuesday, October 30, 2007
Today I learned more stuff. Feels pretty good to be working, but it's a lot to process. I wish it weren't so cold outside, otherwise I'd take a walk around the block to break up the monotony. I miss being in the retail core, where I could go shoe browsing at Nordstrom's next door.
I read a list of spelling, punctuation, and capitalization notes written specifically for this business. It made me feel more at home. Sometimes I see a spelling error, and I want to correct it.
I do miss my last office though. Example: team meeting today, I sat in the cube and read the company website for an hour and a half. (It was suggested I do it, but it really is useful.) In the last office, on my second day, I was in the team meeting, even though I was only supposed to be there for two weeks. On the fourth day, I went to a luncheon as part of that office team. Oh well. I can't have it all. At least I'm not endlessly scanning crap or taking notes about leaks and blackouts.
G is currently burning through Harry Potter 6. Cuts into hanging out time, but it's better than Dice Wars. Or one of the six or seven other games he's playing.
